Bowered \’bou(-ə)rd\ – transitive verb – sheltered or enclosed; protected
Bare \ˈber\ – adjective – having nothing left over or added
At Bowered and Bare, we’ve always believed that the products we use for personal care should be simple, pure, natural and free from questionable and unnecessary additives. When we set out to find them, we realized that such products were extremely uncommon in today’s mass produced commercial system.
So we decided to make them.
The methods we use to make our products are traditional and time-honored. Our handcrafted soap is made without artificial colorants, preservatives, parabens or detergent. We make it using all natural plant-based oils, and a process that dates back to 2800 BC…roughly 200 years before Noah’s Ark. Our candles are made with soy wax and cotton paper wicks. We do not use paraffin wax (a petroleum byproduct) and our wicks contain no metals whatsoever.
We believe in caring for ourselves, our family and the planet in the most mindful and natural way possible. We believe that every purchase we make is not just a simple purchase, but that it’s a vote. A vote for a particular way of life. We believe that our vote does not just affect us, but will have profound consequences for our children, their children and their children’s children.
